Invitation for Bids
San Luis Valley Housing Coalition (SLVHC) will receive Bids for the renovation of the High Valley Manor Apartments located at 503 Batterson Ave in Monte Vista, CO. This project consists of ADA upgrades and renovations, new heating and lighting, new parking surfaces, stucco repair, new exterior windows, new corridor doors, and exterior painting. Bids will be received until July 21st, 2016 2:00 pm MDT at the San Luis Valley Housing Coalition, 529 Main St. Ste. 6 Alamosa, CO, at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders may be required to submit a summary of previous work experience in the area of the proposed project and a statement of financial responsibility when such a submission is deemed necessary. The Owner may also conduct any investigations it deems necessary to determine the Bidder’s performance capabilities. Contract documents, including drawings and technical specifications, can be downloaded from the Housing Coalition’s website at http://www.slvhc.com A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on July 5th, 2016 10:00 am MDT at the High Valley Manor Apartments site with a walk-through to follow. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of San Luis Valley Housing Coalition negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Prior to the awarding of the Contract, SLVHC may defer its decision for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding of the Contract. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
